Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony

The Paris 2024 opening ceremony gets underway on this Thursday morning AEST. The ceremony will open with a popular parade on the iconic Champs-Elysées, involving up to 184 delegations from around the world.

Carrying the flag for Team Australia is wheelchair racer Madison de Rozario alongside swimmer Brendan Hall.

De Rozario has won six medals from four games. Two gold, three silver and one bronze.

She is coached by legend Louise Sauvage, who carried the flag for Australia at Athens in 2004, and who lit the cauldron at the Sydney opening ceremony in 2000.

In Paris, De Rozario is set to race in the women’s 1500m and 500m T54, as well as the women’s marathon.

Join thousands of Aussies cheering on these athletes as part of the 3am club, with our merch range, or follow along on the 3am club broadcast channel.
